ITANAGAR, June 24 - Itanagar Capital Complex District Administration has bagged two SKOCH Order-of-Merit awards at 52nd SKOCH Summit in two categories, viz., GPS-based Sanitation Management at Itanagar and e-Office at Deputy Commissioners office here.

This is the second award for e-Office implementation in DCs office after the National e-Governance Award received in February this year.

The Skoch awards were received by Itanagar Circle Officer Bittu Kri and District Informatics Officer Tarani Kumar on behalf of the District Administration in a glittering function held at Constitution Club, New Delhi on Saturday.

Earlier on Thursday, State Govt had also bagged the SKOCH Order of Merit Award for efficient implementation of Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign and Chief Ministers Free Cancer Chemotherapy Scheme.

Highlighting on the GPS-based sanitation management, Kri stated that the solid waste was a major problem for Itanagar as had been proved in the Swachh Survekshan of 2016 where the city was placed as the third dirtiest city. However, with efforts of the district administration and Itanagar Municipal Council, it soon improved its ranking by giant strides to reach the half way mark at 216 out of 434 cities.
