GUWAHATI, Feb 20 - The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Federation of Indian Export Organisations under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, today held an open house meet in the city to discuss and resolve the issues and concerns of exporters in the presence of Union Commerce Secretary Dr Anup Wadhawan.
The Commerce Secretary along with a team of senior officials had consultations with the exporters and officials of the State government regarding measures to be taken to boost exports from the State. Grievances of exporters were addressed.
Dr Anup Wadhawan assured all possible support towards the issues relating to export from the highest level of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt of India.
Around 100 exporters from Assam and the neighbouring states participated in the meet and gave various suggestions to the panel consisting of policy makers and regulators. There was a discussion on the provisions of foreign trade policy, export-related infrastructure, transaction costs and other facets to promote exports from Assam.
