Israeli delegation visits Tech City

GUWAHATI, Nov 4 - A delegation led by Israeli Ambassador to India Dr Ron Malka today visited Tech City, a 100-acre IT and electronics facility near the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. Tech City is in the process of development as a one-of-a-kind IT and electronics hub in the city and a large number of national and global entrepreneurs have already shown keen interest in setting up various manufacturing facilities and educational and training set-ups in the park.�

MK Yadava, MD, AMTRON, briefed the Israeli Ambassador about the project vis-�-vis the facilities to be provided in�Tech City. Following this, Ivy Gohain Dasgupta, Chief�Engineer, Quality Control, Water Resource Department, Assam, also showcased the current scenario in Assam and sought technological solutions to diminish the present constraints.

The Minister of Information Technology & Water Resources Keshab�Mahanta also had an exclusive discussion with the delegates and projected the viable environment, both political and social, in the State.�

The Ambassador expressed that he and the entire delegation were�pleased to visit the set-up and was extremely impressed with the vision on which the entire facility is being developed.

He also requested the Department of Information Technology and AMTRON to plan a visit shortly to Israel for exploring the emerging technologies available therein. He also stated that the Government of Israel would be happy to provide all the necessary support for any possible collaborations and technology sourcing for establishing manufacturing set-ups and R&D institutions in Assam with the potential investors of Israel.

Tech City is expected to boost the IT industry in Assam and bring in employment opportunities for the youths of the State.

The Ambassador�s wife Lea Malka, and Israeli Minister Counsellor for Political�Affairs Ronen Krausz were also part of the�visiting delegation.
