GUWAHATI, March 27 � Israel is interested in strengthening the agricultural and horticultural sectors of the State with technological support. This was stated by agricultural technologist of Israel Samuel Katz during his meeting with State�s Agriculture Minister Rockybul Hussain at the latter�s official chamber in the State Assembly campus here today, said an official press release.
The agricultural technologist also informed the Agriculture Minister that several Israeli firms are interested to work in the State�s agriculture sector. These firms are particularly keen on working for the improvement of irrigation and food processing sectors of the State, he said.
Katz invited Hussain to see for himself the progress made by his country in the agricultural sector and to take part in the Agritech Israel, 2015, which is scheduled to be held between April 28 and 30 next.
Hussain conveyed his thanks to the Israel Government, through Katz, for the interest it has shown to work for the development of the State�s agricultural sector and said that the matter would be considered with due importance.
At the request of the Agriculture Minister, Katz also visited today the centres of excellence set up by the Horticulture and Food Processing Directorate of the State at Khetri and Boko in Kamrup district and offered some suggestions for development of the centres.
