GUWAHATI, Aug 10 - The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Guwahati, is organising the �ISKCON Heritage Fest 2016� � a series of Vedic competitions � among schoolchildren of greater Guwahati at Sri Sri Rukmini Temple-cum-Cultural Complex, South Sarania here from August 14.
The aim of this fest is to inculcate moral and ethical values among the young minds, establishing the real formula for peace, social harmony and communal amity. The fest is also expected to create awareness among the new generation about various aspects of the rich cultural and philosophical heritage of Vedic India.
The inaugural function will be held on August 14 with a Vedic art competition and a Gita Sloka recitation competition. The fest will come to an end on August 21 with Vedic fancy dress competition and Krishna Bhajan competition.
All these competitions are open for students from Nursery to Class VII in different groups. The students may participate in the competitions either through their respective schools or individually.
