GUWAHATI, Aug 10 � International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), Guwahati, is organising �ISKCON Heritage Fest � 2013�, a series of Vedic competitions among the school children of the Greater Guwahati area, from August 18.
The fest would be held at the Sri Sri Rukmini Krishna Temple-cum-Cultural Complex premises at South Sarania, Ulubari Chariali, a press release stated.
�The aim and purpose of this festival is to inculcate moral and ethical values among the young students of the society in the North East, establishing the real formula for peace, social harmony and communal amity. The fest is also expected to create an awareness in various aspects of our rich cultural and philosophical heritage of Vedic India among the new generations of the society�,� it said.
On August 18, the inaugural function will start with Vedic Art competition and Gita Sloka recitation competition. It will conclude on August 25 with Vedic Fancy Dress competition and Krishna Bhajan competition.
�All competitions are open for students from nursery to class VII in different groups. The students may participate in the competitions either through their respective schools or individually,� the release said.
