Meanwhile, Haiborgaon police rushed to the spot and managed to bring the situation under control.

Sources said that one private tutor, identified as Hiranya Boruah of Kachomari village on the outskirts of the town, was admitted to Haiborgaon GD Nursing Home on Monday night after suffering from a rare kind of boil on his leg.

Amid ongoing treatment in the hospital, the doctor concerned, Dr KK Doley, declared him dead this morning. Following the declaration, around 100 people from his native place Kachomari area, rushed to the hospital and created ruckus on the premises. Subsequently, the mob tried to vandalise the hospital building.

But Haiborgaon police immediately rushed to the hospital and brought the situation under control, sources said.

In the meantime, the doctors as well as hospital authorities said that during the patients diagnosis, it was found that he was infected with scrub typhus virus which had 60 per cent possibility of mortality. He was infected after receiving a bite by a rare insect like scrubs typhus. Hence his death is not due to any negligence, the sources in the hospital claimed.
