�Investors Summit will lead to industrialization�

GUWAHATI, Jan 28 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that the ensuing Global Investors� Summit on February 3 and 4 would expedite the process of investment, which would lead to industrialization.

�We are organizing the Global Investors Summit for the first time in the State under the tagline, �Advantage Assam.� We have invited investors to see the potential and possibilities in Assam and take best advantage of the business policies devised to promote investment,� he said during the inaugural function of the new integrated terminus building at the LGBI Airport today.

The new terminus, spread over 90,000 square metres, will be equipped with world-class passenger facilities and will have the capacity to handle 3,100 passengers during peak hours. The interiors of the building will depict local handicrafts, murals and popular tourist destinations of Assam.

Minister of Commerce & Industry, Transport and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Assam, Chandra Mohan Patowary and Guwahati West MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita also spoke on the occasion. The welcome address was delivered by S Raheja, Member, Planning, Airports Authority of India.

Minister of State for Revenue and Disaster Management Pallab Lochan Das, GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania, Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia, Commissioner of Police Haren Nath, Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu, Regional Director of AAI AK Kamra, ED Planning, AK Pathak, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
