Investors seek refund of money

By Correspondent

NAMRUP, Feb 22 - The PACL Grahak Suraksha Samiti, a committee formed to look after the interests of those people who had deposited/invested money in several investment schemes launched by the PACL and comprising members from Namrup and its adjoining areas, has expressed its concern over the fact that the company has closed down its office and not refunded the money. It has also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard.

The spokesperson of the aforesaid samiti, Prabhat Chandra Gohain told this correspondent here at Namrup that the PACL Ltd had set up a branch office at Hijuguri, Tinsukia to run its business in Dibrugarh, Duliajan, Tinsukia, Namrup, Bohat etc. But the said office was closed down on August 31, 2014 leaving the investors high and dry. It may be mentioned that the PACL Ltd was functioning under the banner of Pearls Group, which has its corporate office in New Delhi. Since the closing down of the office, the investors have been urging the authorities to reopen the Tinsukia-based office of PACL Ltd, but in vain. We are now in deep despair, he added.

The PACL Grahak Suraksha Samiti has urged the PACL Ltd to take quick measures to refund the hard-earned public money invested/ deposited by the people. The Samiti submitted a memorandum recently to the Chief Minister of Assam, asking for his kind intervention in this respect so that the investors and depositors of Assam would get back their hard-earned money from the PACL Limited.
