Investigators still clueless on Jogdal killings

By Correspondent

JORABAT, Dec 12 - Six years ago on this day six members of the family of Harakanta Doloi were murdered. The infamous Jogdal murders took place on December 12, 2009, but till date the investigation has failed to produce results. The crime is being investigated by the CID, the States premier investigation agency.

In this context the Dimoria units of All Assam Students Union (AASU), Karbi Students Union (KSU), All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Tiwa Students Union, All Assam Tea Tribe Students Association and All Assam Tribal Sangha staged a sit-in demonstration at Dispur Last Gate on Friday, demanding that the probe be transferred from the CID to the Central Bureau of Investigation.

The organisations have alleged that the investigation has slowed down and no result has accrued from it due to alleged involvement of sitting MLA Akon Bora.

It may be recalled that the perpetrators of the crime did not spare even two minors namely Atul and Tukul Doloi of the victim family.

Meanwhile, the organisations have warned of intensifying their agitation if the investigation into the inhuman crime does not bear fruit, reiterating that the CBI be entrusted with the probe.
