INTUC demands concession in school fees for workers kids

By Correspondent

DIPHU, Feb 25 - The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) on Wednesday held a press conference here.

While addressing the press conference, the national president of the INTUC, Dinesh Sharma Sundriyal, said that the workers are engaged in different activities in the private sector and their condition is very pitiable. There are schemes for development of these weaker sections of the people, but the present NDA-led BJP Government at the Centre has been deceiving and depriving them, Sharma alleged.

Despite several petitions moved by the INTUC demanding better facilities for workers, the Government is yet to take any step in this regard, he rued.

Aadhar cards should be made available by the Government to the working people, Sundriyal demanded in the press conference.

Sundriyal, along with State president Mehabob Hussain and TR Ramapara, coordinator of All India Congress Committee, ST Department, were on a visit to Diphu on Wednesday to take stock of the condition of employees, workers and traders.

He also demanded that there must be a concession of 20 per cent in school fees for children of workers engaged in the private sector. Facilities like health care, education and economic condition should be improved.

Blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sundriyal said that the Government is in favour of only rich people.

District president of the INTUC Janeman Engleng and general secretary Suraj Chetri and other leaders were also present in the press conference.
