Int�l Human Rights Day observed

IMPHAL, Dec 11 - International Human Rights Day was widely observed in Manipur despite incessant rains on Sunday.

Coalition for Indigenouss Rights Campaign(CIRCA) also organised a discussion on human rights, armed conflict and pre-merger political status of Manipur at State Guest House here.

Research associate Dr K Sanatomba of Centre for South Asia Study, Manipur University, Associate Professor Bimol Akoijam, JNU Delhi, former member of Manipur Human Rights Commission Yambem Laba, Chief Editor of Impact TV Yumnam Rupachandra and others spoke on the occasion.

CIRCA convenor Th Somorendro said the NGO has been campaigning for the return of the state to the pre-merger status in order to resolve the various problems of the State.

The Judiciary officers, advocates and legal fraternity of the State also observed the Day by holding a donation camp under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority Imphal West and All Manipur Bar Association at Uripok in Imphal.
