SHILLONG, April 16 � An International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture is coming up at Mawkasiang, about 11 km from here and its foundation stone would be laid by Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on April 23.
Official sources today said the Centre would provide infrastructure of international standards to host State, national and international events of performing arts, cultural fiestas and musical fests.
A project under the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR), it is sanctioned by DoNER Ministry and is being implemented by the State Department of Arts and Culture. � PTI
