Guwahati, Feb 27: Western leaders expressed concern over the spotting of a thermobaric multiple rockets launcher, being deployed towards the Ukrainian border.

The visual of the deployment of the thermobaric bombs to seize control of Ukraine was shared on social media.

Reportedly, it was heading towards Kharkiv, Ukraine from near Belgorod, Russia's border with Ukraine on Saturday afternoon.

Although the Ukrainian troops are offering fierce resistance, Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to adopt deadlier methods to take over the country.

As per reports, Western officials have warned that if the Ukrainian military resistance continues to hold up the Russian assault, President Putin could resort to using thermobaric weapons.

The officials were quoted as saying that if they (Russia) don't meet their timescale and objectives they would be indiscriminate in their use of violence. "They don't adhere to the same principles of necessity and proportionality and rule of law that Western forces do," the officials added.

The video, shared on Twitter by CNN correspondent Frederik Pleitgen, displays a TOS-1 A heavy flamethrower, which can shoot thermobaric rockets mounted on a T-72 tank chassis.

The thermobaric bomb uses oxygen from the surrounding air to generate a high-temperature explosion, making it more deadly than a conventional weapon.

Also known as 'vacuum bombs' the weapons are capable to suck out oxygen in the air where they are deployed to create a powerful explosion.

The fatal weapon is capable of causing supersonic waves that can obliterate everything in its path, including buildings and humans.

Considering the horrifying consequences the weapon can cause, their use has been condemned by a number of non-governmental organizations.

While Putin is steadfast to take control over Ukraine, world leaders are imposing sanctions against Russia.
