Guwahati, March 15: In what could be termed as an act of bravery a Russian pilot has denounced his country's invasion of Ukraine and said that "the war with Ukraine is a crime..."
The pilot made this announcement just before taking off. Expressing his views, he said that sensible citizens will do everything to put an end to violence.
The video of the pilot's message was made both in English and Russian, amid applause from passengers.. "Ladies and gentlemen, here is your captain speaking. Welcome to Antalya. Thank you for flying with "Pobeda". Also, from me personally: the war with Ukraine is a crime...".
The video has gone viral on social media, and many, including Ukrainian diplomat Olexander Scherba, saluted the bravery shown by the pilot.
Since President Vladimir Putin ordered a land, air and sea invasion of Ukraine on February 24, several Russians have protested against the invasion.
As per reports, more than 750 people have been arrested in cities across Russia for protesting against Moscow's invasion of Ukraine, which is now in its third week.
