JALUKBARI, Aug 21 - The Zoological Society of Assam (ZSA) organised an international webinar today where Professor SR Milligan of King�s College London spoke on the topic � �Humans as an intelligent species. Where have they come from? Where are they going?�

The webinar mainly focused on the advancements of the human race from being �early men� to being users of tools, to being independent and finally being developed themselves and developing the world.

Prof Milligan in his hour-long deliberation, highlighted the global demographic statistics, comparing the ancestral family planning with the current scenario in the world. He also made an insight into the various aspects of use of scientific and technological tools in reproduction and specifically in the field of artificial birth control strategies.

The webinar was part of an initiative taken by the ZSA to provide an online platform for promoting learning and providing useful information to students in particular through a series of virtual events on very relevant and important topics during the current pandemic period.

Queries put by eminent professors, researchers and students from across the world were actively responded to by Prof Milligan. Highlighting many issues related to human population and control measures across the world, he categorically mentioned that there has been a lack of scientific understanding in politics.
