GUWAHATI, Nov 8 - The 62nd annual conference of the International College of Surgeons � Indian section will be held here in association with city-based Down Town Hospital from November 11 to 13, said a press release.
Around 200 delegates from all over India and abroad and surgeons of all specialities including general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, ENT and other super-specialities have registered for the conference.
On the first day, the programme will start with the CSEP inauguration, to be followed by scientific sessions and workshops. Inauguration of the conference will be at 6 pm on November 11 and it will be followed by a cultural programme.
The International College of Surgeons (ICS) is a global organisation dedicated to bringing together surgeons and surgical specialists of all nations, races and creeds to promote surgical excellence for the benefit of mankind and to foster fellowship worldwide.
The purpose ICS is to advance the art and science of surgery by bringing together surgeons of recognised professional calibre of all nations without regard to nationality, creed or colour, facilitating an international exchange of surgical knowledge. ICS was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1935 by Dr Max Thorek.
