GUWAHATI, March 20 - Well-known ayurvedic practitioner Pankaj Pathak was today granted pre-arrest interim bail by the Gauhati High Court.
The police had asked Pathak to appear before them after his wife lodged a case against him with the Sonapur Police Station alleging harassment.
The Court of Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan, after considering the submissions made by defence lawyer Bijon Kumar Mahajan, granted the interim pre-arrest bail with some riders.
The State government�s counsel Tapash Mishra had opposed granting of bail to the accused. The next date of hearing has been fixed on April 4 when the matter is expected to be disposed of.
