By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 31 A major inter-State online trading fraud is likely to come to the fore after the detention of two persons in online share market trading by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Baikuntha Brahma and Lakshmi Narayan Patnaik were today picked up by the CID sleuths after clues indicating siphoning of several lakhs of rupees were gathered by the investigating agency.

The duo is being questioned and nothing can be shared with the media at this moment, a senior CID official stated.

While Brahma is a resident of Guwahati, Patnaik hails from West Bengal.

Sources went on to inform that the duo allegedly indulged in hacking of some online accounts of individuals.

We have been tracking the activities of the duo for quite some time and found that both of them were masterminding the online fraud at the cost of share holders of the North East region, the sources pointed out.

The sources also did not rule out involvement of more persons in the case.

The CID is said to have laid hands on some concrete inputs based on the revelations of the duo and arrests of few more people in this connection are likely.
