GUWAHATI, April 28 � The NECCON Invitational Inter-Club Tennis Championships will be hosted by India Club at its premises here from April 30 to May 20. Clubs like Jorhat Tennis Club, Jorhat Gymkhana Club, Sivasagar Tennis Club, Railway Club, Shillong Club, Zaloni Club and Tezpur Club have confirmed their participation in the meet.
Informing this, India Club tennis secretary Rajeeb Bora said �Being one of the few institutions in the region that take the promotion of tennis seriously, it is only in the fitness of things that India Club is hosting this recreational competition�. Tournament organizing secretary Anupam Choudhury said: �Every now and then, we feel that a congregation of the recreational tennis-playing fraternity is required at our club � just to remind people that tennis is a game that can be played for life�.
With NECCON as the title-sponsor, Oil India Ltd, HDFC, UB Group, United Spirits, and Shine Realtors as co-sponsors, The Assam Tribune as media partner, Big92.7 FM and DY365 as radio and channel partners respectively. India Club expects a decent turnout of tennis enthusiasts to witness the three-day event.
