Integrated draft electoral rolls for Kamrup (M) district published

GUWAHATI, Sept 15 - Altogether 10,52,186 voters of Kamrup (Metro) district have been enlisted in the integrated draft electoral rolls published today by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Assam. Among them, 5,28,387 are male, 5,23,760 are female and 39 are third gender voters.

In the district, altogether 1,89,333 voters are enlisted in Jalukbari Legislative Assembly Constituency with 94,535 being male voters, 94,790 female and eight third gender voters. In Dispur LAC, altogether 3,72,062 voters are recorded and among them 1,87 859 are male voters, 1,84,192 female and 11 third gender voters.

In Gauhati East LAC, altogether 2,21,394 voters are recorded. Male voters number 1,10,908, while 1,10,471 are female voters and 15 third gender. In Gauhati West Legislative Assembly Constituency, altogether 2,69,397 voters are recorded and among them 1,35,085 are male voters, 1,34,307 are female and five are third gender voters.

Names of 4,281 �D� voters have remained in the integrated draft electoral rolls. Among those doubtful voters, altogether 66 names are recorded in Jalukbari, 2,235 in Dispur, 272 in Gauhati East and 1,708 names are recorded in Gauhati West LAC.

Altogether 25 new polling stations have been created in the district during the recent rationalisation and the total number of polling stations has now risen to 1,195. In Jalukbari constituency, altogether 10 polling stations have been newly created and the total number is now 243. In Dispur constituency, altogether 10 polling stations have been newly created and the total number has gone up to 404. In Gauhati East constituency, one new polling station has been added and the total number is now 244. In Gauhati West, altogether four polling stations have been newly created and the total number of polling stations is now 304.

The period for filing of claims and objections on the integrated draft electoral rolls will be from September 15 to October 31 and all objections and claims will be dispose of within November 30. The final electoral rolls will be published on January 4 of next year.
