GUWAHATI, July 18 � The 36th installation ceremony-cum-charter nite of the Lions Club of Gauhati Greater was organised on July 17 here under the presidentship of Lion (CA) Ashok Kumar Agarwala. Members of the club were welcomed with a song sung by Lions and Lioness members. Both Lion and Lioness presented their secretarial reports. Treasure reports were also presented by both the wings. Lion president Ashok Kumar Agarwala presented the yearly awards. Lioness President also awarded annual prizes to the members.
Past District Governor Lion (Dr) KK Jhunjhunwala from Shillong gave the oath of office to the New Board of Directors. It is to be mentioned here that Lion Suresh Saboo received the best Treasurer award in the district 322D and Lion president Ashok Kumar Agarwala received the Silver Membership Growth Award, Year Round Growth Award, 10 member key award and appreciation award from the Lions Club International.
Past District Governor Lion DP Bajaj, Dr SS Harlalka, Past District Governor JK Saraogi were present on the occasion. Presidents along with members of other clubs were also present on the occasion. Dr SS Harlalka inducted one new Lion member and Lioness member to the club. Charter members Kishore Rai Surana and SR Basu spoke about the old days in the club. The vote of thanks was offered by Lion BP Khemka.
