Inspection train arrives at Badarpur

BADARPUR, March 16 � The �Wind Trial Inspection Train (LG Special Train)� with nine coaches carrying NF Railway Administrative Officer Ajit Pandit and other top officials arrived at Badarpur Railway Station on Sunday afternoon. The special train on the newly laid broadgauge line was welcomed by a sea of humanity.

The inspection train having accommodation for officials started from the Kamakhya station of Guwahati on Saturday at 11 pm. On the way, the railway officials and engineers of the construction department inspected the overall condition of the entire BG rail track in the Lumding-Badarpur hill section.

The NF Railway General Manager (Construction Department) Rakesh Singh and other high officials will soon inspect all the tunnels, bridges and BG conversion works in the 210-km Lumding-Badarpur hill section and the Silchar sector. During the inspection hours, they will also take some decisions regarding the speed of passenger trains, carrying capacity of goods trains and other matters.

After the inspection of the construction department officials, the Railway Safety Commissioner will personally inspect the new BG line before submitting his �fitness report�. Following this, the schedule for passenger train service on the new BG line will be announced by the Ministry of Railways. But before that, goods trains will ply on this new route.
