GUWAHATI, July 7 - An innovative approach has been initiated under the Assam PWD (Roads) involving �Milling & Recycling Technology� today on Hem Baruah Road.
The effort is designed to excavate the top bituminous layer up to 90mm through sophisticated milling machines and using reclaimed aggregate and bitumen up to 30 per cent from the excavated material in the counter flow drum mix plant for relaying it on the milled surface.
The main benefits would be to check the height of road level, to conserve ecology by reusing reclaimed materials and to enhance the durability of the road by rectifying the underlying layers.
The project would also be carried out on FC Road, MC Road and Kahilipara-Lal Ganesh Road.
