Joydeep Chakraborty, a frontline member of Apollo Club of Meherpur said that they had reports of children being victimized inside the orphanage and they tried to contact the authorities as well. It is unfortunate to find that a place which is supposed to ensure care and safety of children turns out to be a torturous den for them, Joydeep said adding that they would inform the police to take necessary action in this matter.

Interestingly, Diba Roy, secretary of the orphanage brushed aside the allegations of ill treatment to the children and claimed that the girl is suffering from mental disorder.
