GUWAHATI, Jan 3 - The initiative to rebuild the Kamrup Natya Mandir, Uzanbazar has been started under the aegis of the Kumar Bhaskar Natya Mandir Centenary Celebration Committee and aid from Guwahati Refinery.
GMDA chairman and chief convener of the Kamrup Natya Samiti, Dhiren Baruah, president in-charge Bimal Medhi, convener Rupjyoti Hazarika and Kailash Sarma, among others, attended a meeting held for the purpose recently, where the culture loving people of the area also took.
In the meeting, people expressed their gratitude to the Guwahati Refinery authorities for extending a financial aid of Rs 47,37,000 for the reconstruction of the heritage building. The refinery would reconstruct and hand over the Natya Mandir to the committee by March 31, 2016.
