MANGALDAI, Nov 6 - A state-level five-day industrial expo and trade fair got under way at the Gandhi Maidan here from Tuesday.
The fair was inaugurated by Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das in the presence of chairman of Mangaldai Municipality Board Manik Sil Sarma, General Manager, DICC, Darrang, Hemanta Talukdar and entrepreneurs.
In his inaugural speech, Legislator Das congratulated the participants for choosing the path of entrepreneurship to become self-reliant . �Entrepreneurs should try to innovate new products to capture the global market. Our indigenous products have a good demand at the international market,� he said.
He also urged upon the entrepreneurs to gather necessary knowledge of all the relevant government sponsored programmes to boost their trade.
The inaugural ceremony began with the paying floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Bhupen Hazarika.
Leading entrepreneurs of different parts of the State have put up stalls showcasing various handicraft items.
