GUWAHATI, Nov 14 - A two-day induction training programme for the newly-recruited Technical Officers (TO-I,TO-II) under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Assam was held at the Key Resource Centre (KRC), JJM, PHE Department Assam, at Betkuchi here under the guidance of Diganta Kumar Baruah, Deputy Director, KRC, JJM Assam on November 11-12, a press release stated.
A total of 34 participants (1st phase) from Kokrajhar, Baksa, Barpeta, Golaghat, Mangaldai, Nagaon, Tezpur, Nazira, Nalbari and Majuli Division participated in the training programme.
On the first day, PHED Minister Rihon Daimari encouraged the participants with his motivational words and guidance. The Chief Engineer (PHE) Water gave a brief introduction on Jal Jeevan Mission, its objectives, vision and operational guidelines. The Additional Mission Director (NT) Gauri Shankar Sarmah also addressed the participants and interacted with them.
Various sessions on JJM, SBM (G), Account, Audit, Water Treatment Processes and functioning of PWSS, Water Quality, Human Health, IEC, IPC, BCC approach, water supply distribution network, IMIS and their roles and responsibilities were covered. Apart from the theoretical sessions, the participants were also exposed to the State Referral Laboratory, Sanitation and Water Park, Truck Mounted Mobile Water Treatment Plant and the Truck Mounted Mobile Laboratory placed at the PHE Campus, Betkuchi.
The programme ended with the valedictory session and distribution of certificates by the Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission Assam Adil Khan.
