Indonesia dominate paragliding championship

KOKRAJHAR, Nov 14 - Indonesia has generated four medals from the 1st Bodoland International Paragliding Championship with two gold, one silver and one bronze medals which was held from November 11 to 14 at Dangdhufur hill in Chakrasila Wild Life Sanctuary in the Kokrajhar district of BTAD.

Indonesia�s Jafro Megawanto won the gold medal in the men�s category and Rika Wijayanti won the gold medal in women�s category while Ardiansyah Megaputra won the bronze medal in man�s and Gita Reky Yuanita Guntari won the silver medal in women�s category respectively.

Yong Wu of China won the silver medal in man�s category while Jinhee Back of Korea won the bronze medal in women�s category.

Deputy Chief of BTC Kampa Borgoyari, BTC Executive Member Doneswar Goyari, BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan handed over the cash prize and medals to the winners in a prize distribution ceremony held this evening.

The international event was organized by the Tourism Department of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) where 68 pilots including women from countries like Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Nepal, China and India were participated. The gold, silver and bronze medal winners were awarded with Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh respectively.
