GUWAHATI, Feb 7 - Guwahatians will get to witness the mouth-watering India-Pakistan hockey match at the Maulana Md Tayabulla Hockey Stadium, Bhetapara here tomorrow.
The arch rivals will face off in the group pool match of the 12th South Asian Games.
Although top ranked players of either sides will not be seen in action both the teams will be studded with international stars, both junior and senior.
The Indian team will consist of junior internationals along with Olympian Gurbaj Singh. Players like Manpreet Singh, Mangal Singh Chahal, Vikas Chaudhary, Ajay Yadav and Pradhan Sommanna, Mohd Umar, Anup Amarpal Valmiki, Mandeep Antil, PL Thimmanna, Gagandeep Singh and Ajit Kumar Pandey will be seen in action tomorrow for India. The Pakistani team will field stars like former Olympian Rehan Butt, and stars like Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Rashid, Zohail Ashraf, Hasim Khan,Umar Gutta among others.
The other teams in the pool are Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Top two teams will play for the gold and silver while the third and the fourth will lock horns for the bronze medal.
Match starts at 8 pm.
