Indo-Myanmar border meet concludes

IMPHAL, Oct 21 - The four day Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee (IMRBC) meet organised by Spear Corps of Indian Army concluded here today.

The meet is a bi-annual event which provides opportunities for representatives of security forces and civil establishment of both the countries to discuss and resolve crucial issues relating to border management, bi-lateral cooperation and terrorism, according to Assam Rifles sources.

The Indian delegation was headed by Major General SS Mishra, GOC Red Shield Division and the Myanmar delegation was led by Brig Gen Thet Pon, Commander, North West Command. They were accompanied by civil and military officials of their respective countries.

The last IMRBC meet was held in Myanmar about six months back.

NSCN(K) cadre held: Imphal West police commandos arrested a cadre of NSCN(K) during a frisking here on Tuesday, Police said. Investigation revealed that he had extorted a huge amount of money from government departments, businessmen, travel and transport agencies and educational institutions, a police press release said.
