DIBRUGARH, March 3 - SRF Foundation with support from IndiGo Airlines and the State Department of Education has initiated its IndiGo School Adoption and GetSmart (a mobile digital bus) programme in Lahowal Block of Dibrugarh district by adopting 15 government schools.
Under the IndiGo School Adoption Programme, the SRF Foundation organised an event known as �Academic Mela and Stakeholders� Felicitation� event for the adopted schools at Chaulkhowa LP School playground today.
Under the IndiGo School Adoption Programme, the academic mela and stakeholders� felicitation was to further motivate and enhance sharing of innovative ideas, best practices and ensuring sustainable teaching-learning practices of the schools.
The IndiGo School Adoption Programme also focuses on the holistic development of government schools as model institutions under components of physical, academic and digital transformation.
Under physical transformation, construction/renovation of toilets for boys and girls, provision of safe drinking water facility, play equipment, setting up of library-cum-resource centres, provision of classroom furniture and mini-science labs are planned.
Under academic upgrades, resources like teaching-learning material, training of head masters and teachers, block-level academic fairs, development of academic resource centre and engagement of out-of-school children will be conducted.
Under digital transformation, a 20 computer system equipped mobile lab with big screen and server loaded content will support the school teachers and students on a daily basis to teach and learn their classroom content through audio-video-visual methods and after schools hours the bus will be placed in villages to promote digital literacy and digital based services free of cost.
