Otherwise, this type of programme will never succeed at all. This was stated by Karimganj MP Radheshyam Biswas, while addressing a meeting of the inaugural function of the Indian Post Payments Bank ( IPPB) at Karimganj Head Post Office.

He said that the Post Payments Banking Service is undoubtedly a desirable programme of the Indian government, which will be of help to the people of rural areas or distant places. So, in this connection, until the internet and mobile services are developed in thie district, the IPPB service will not succeed. Biswas said that the present condition of the internet and mobile services in the entire district is very pathetic. He said that regarding this issue, he has spoken to the GM and AGM of BSNL and also with the Union Minister, but they said that the issue will be solved soon. There is a lack of sufficient infrastructure and also employees in the district, which has hit internet and mobile services, they said.

The Karimganj MLA Kamalakkhya Dey Purakayastha also was of the same opinion. Earlier, the welcome speech was delivered by the Chief Post Master of the Karimganj Head Post Office Hem Chandra Barman.
