Dhaka, Feb 1 (PTI): India began fourth day in the 11th South Asian Games with their third gold in cycling when Mahita Mohan topped the women�s 50km road race mass start today.
Besides, India also won a bronze through Rameshwari Devi in the event held at Bangladesh Krida Shiksha Pratisthan (BKSP) in Khulna, about 300km from here.
For Mahita, this was her second gold as she had earlier clinched a team title in the women�s 30km time trial event. Mahita clocked 1 hour 25 minutes 42 seconds to finish first ahead of Lasanthi Krishna Goonathilaka of Sri Lanka. The Lankan had a tight finish with Rameshwari and a difference of one second ensured the silver for Lasanthi.
Rameshwari clocked 1::28:35s for her second medal. She was earlier part of the women�s time trial team that clinched the gold. For the Indian cyclists, this was third gold in as many consecutive days. The men�s team yesterday won the 80km time trial.
