India, NZ teams to arrive today

GUWAHATI, Nov 25 � Players of the Indian and New Zealand teams will arrive here tomorrow at 11 am in a chartered flight for the November 28 One-Day International to be played at the Nehru Stadium here. The city match will be the lung opener of the five-match Airtel series.

However, Indian captain Gautam Gambhir along with Suresh Raina, will land at 12 noon while Murli Vijay and S Sreeshant are scheduled to arrive at 4 pm.

The New Zealand team will stay at Hotel Nakshyatra while the Indian team�s accomodation has been arranged at Hotel Landmark.

According to a Assam Cricket Association source, BCCI observer RP Singh will also reach here tomorrow with the team.

According to sources, the Indian team is willing to have a light workout session in the afternoon. Gautam Gambhir in particular intimated the team management to arrange for a training session.

The Airtel Trophy will also be unveiled in the evening. Previously the trophy unveiling programme was scheduled for 5 pm but now it has been postponed to 6 pm.

Meanwhile, all arrangements have been completed for the match although enthusiasm of cricketing buffs for he match is low.

Match referee Roshan Mahanama arrived today and he will visit the stadium tomorrow morning to take stock of preparation of ther pitch, outfield and other arrangements.

Security personnels have already taken over their duties in the RG Baruah Sports Complex and have put their plans on ground to tackle any kind of untoward situation.
