India, Bangla sign 7 pacts

NEW DELHI, Dec 17 - India and Bangladesh on Thursday signed seven pacts to further broadbase cooperation in varied sectors during the virtual summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina. The seven pacts included a protocol on transboundary elephant conservation, a framework of understanding on cooperation in hydrocarbon sector, an MoU on Indian grant assistance for implementation of high impact community development projects through local bodies and other public sector institutions.

MoUs were also signed for a garbage and solid waste disposal project for Barishal City Corporation; terms of reference of India-Bangladesh CEOs Forum; and on cooperation in the field of agriculture.

An MoU between Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum, Dhaka and the National Museum, New Delhi was also signed during the summit.
