By Correspondent

MUSHALPUR, March 17 At a time when the Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland Peoples Front has been facing an awkward situation due to anti-incumbency factor and rift inside the party ahead of the ensuing BTC polls and has been facing a tough task in selecting its candidates for the No 25 Dihira Open BTCLAC and Baganpara ST BTCLAC, some independent candidates have already started wooing the voters of No 25 Dihira Open BTCLAC. Ripendra Swargiary is one of the independent candidates who has been able to exercise good hold among the voters.

In a press meet held at his residence recently, Ripendra Swargiary expressed his decision to contest in the ensuing BTC polls as an independent candidate for No 25 Dihira Open BTCLAC. He stated that due to the indifference of the BPF Government, the citizens of BTAD have been divided into Bodo and non-Bodo people, leading to perpetual tension, misunderstanding, lawlessness and breach in the centuries-old ethnic harmony among the masses. He said that he would work heart and soul for elimination of the ethnic misunderstanding and the mission of harmony will start from No 25 Dihira BTCLAC itself. He said that already over hundreds of public meetings have been organised with great response from the public from all walks of like. Under development of the constituency in respect of road communication, drinking water, electrification and such other basic areas during BPF rule have been apparent in the constituency. He appealed to voters not to cast their valuable votes in favour of political parties but in favour of an efficient candidate.
