Imran Khan marries former BBC presenter

By The Assam Tribune

KARACHI, Jan 1 (PTI): Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan has secretly married a former BBC anchor Reham Khan in a hush hush wedding, according to media reports. The 62-year-old Imran is believed to have tied the knot last weekend with Pakistani news anchor Reham, 41, who is a divorcee and mother-of-three.

She lived in Britain for part of her previous marriage, when she was a weather girl and presenter on the BBC regional news programme South Today.

Imran was previously married to Jemima Goldsmith Khan and has two sons with her, Sulaiman Isa and Kasim. The couple divorced in 2004.

Jemima had revealed in October this year that she was ditching the surname Khan and reverting to her family name because her ex-husband was about to remarry.

She said at the time: My ex-husband, Imran, recently announced that he intended to get remarried soon, which made me think its probably time to change my name back to Goldsmith.

A family friend said that relatives including his sisters were against the marriage and were surprised he went ahead.

Leading political commentator Dr Shahid Masood, who is a close friend of the former captain, said on television that Imran neither confirmed nor denied the news. There has been no official announcement from the couple yet.

F1 driver Jenson Button ties the knot

Hawaii, Jan 1 (IANS): British Formula One (F1) star Jenson Button who drives for McClaren has tied the knot with lingerie model Jessica Michibata after getting engaged last year. The 34-year-old began dating the Argentine-Japanese model back in December 2008 and married at a lavish ceremony here this week, dailymail.co.uk reported on Thursday.

He told me he wants to get married - he said he is the marrying type. If Jenson wins the title we will celebrate by him getting down on one knee. He told me I am the one for him. I hope he means it, Michibata said way back in 2009.

The pair got engaged after Button popped the question on Valentines Day 2014 with a ring reported to be worth 250,000 pounds. Button was the 2009 F1 World Champion.
