Tezpur, Jan 28: The students of Rangapra College seeking admission into MA (Hindi) course have expressed resentment over the alleged mismanagement in the admission process through the portal of Gauhati University.
In a press note, they said that as per the GU guidelines and instructions, the date for online admission for MA (Hindi) was 15/07/2020. However, some students could not submit their applications in the portal due to technical issues.
It was reported to the concerned authority, Dilip Borah, secretary, University Classes, GU. Based on it, a second notification was issued from GU mentioning the period of online application as from 09/01/2021 to 15/01/2021.
This time, unfortunately, the website was not opened for further applications, they said. Another complaint was submitted to the authority, but he replied that nothing could be done about it.
The aggrieved students feel they have become victims of improper handling of the portal, although there was no fault on their part. In a memorandum to the GU authority, two of the aggrieved students, Bibek Upadhyay and Payal Kumari, have sought an enquiry into the matter.
