GUWAHATI, Jan 23 � A two day State Conference on Educational Planning and Administration for state, district and block educational administrators organized by National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA), New Delhi and Elementary Education Department, Government of Assam with SCERT, Assam as the nodal agency concluded yesterday at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra here.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi inaugurated the conference on January 21and in his inaugural speech highlighted the importance of education in societal development. Good management is one of the key factors in bringing about quality in a state and all officers should take the responsibility for bringing about changes for the better, he added. The Chief Minister also emphasised the need of fixing accountability and performance bench mark for each educational practitioner in the state for quality assurance. He also mentioned that excellent services of officers should be acknowledged by awarding additional increment as well as sending them to abroad for further professional growth in the field of education.
Rajiv Kumar Bora, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Education Department appreciated NUEPA, New Delhi for organising the two-day conference.
