IMPHAL, Nov 5 � A private tour operator in Manipur is all set to introduce a chartered flight between Imphal and Mandalay for the second time prior to the Manipur Sangai Festival in the State.
P Kunjabihari, proprietor of KB Enterprises, a private tour operator here said that almost all formalities has been cleared and added, �we�re now planning to submit the passengers list, etc.� The agency has started selling of Imphal-Mandalay round trip air tickets at the rate of Rs 14,000. All necessary communication between the concerned Indian authorities including Ministry of Civil aviation and the tour operator besides the Myanmar counterpart has been made for the flight, he added.
On August 11 this year, Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had written to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati to grant necessary permission for the proposal at the earliest.
In November last year, Imphal International Airport had made a debut on the International aviation map after Myanmar�s private airline Golden Myanmar made a maiden landing. A 100-strong Myanmarese delegation led by Chief Ministers U Thar Aye and U Ye Myint of Mandalay and Saigang divisions, who came by the flight, attended the Sangai Festival showcasing the State�s rich cultural heritage, indigenous food and sports.
