IMPHAL, May 24 � About 1.62 lakh voters are eligible to exercise their franchise to elect 27 councilors of the Imphal Municipal Council tomorrow at about 250 polling stations, official sources said.
Sources said there are altogether 72 candidates including women and all arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of the election.
At least 12 police personnel supported by homeguards would be deployed at each polling station, sources said adding that there was no untoward incident during the weeks-long campaigning which ended at 4 pm yesterday. � PTI
