Impartial probe sought into Parag Bhuyan�s death

DOOMDOOMA, Nov 25 - Journalists of Tinsukia district, while attending a memorial meet to pay tribute to journalist Parag Bhuyan on Wednesday, reiterated their demand for an impartial probe into the mysterious road mishap in which he was killed.

The memorial meet was organised by the Tinsukia District Journalists Association (TDJA) and the Kakopathar Press Club, in association with various organisations and individuals of Kakopathar, on the Kakopathar Sanskritik Sangha premises.

The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in front of a cutout of Parag Bhuyan by TDJA president Dr Rishi Das. Journalists of Tinsukia district, representatives of various organisations and individuals paid floral tributes to Parag Bhuyan. It was followed by an all-religion prayer meet.

Later, a meeting was held with the TDJA president in the chair. Addressing the gathering, Tinsukia Zila Sahitya Sabha president Arjun Baruah, Assam Union of Working Journalists organising secretary Bhaskar Sharma, senior journalist Himen Bhattacharya and several others spoke on various aspects of Bhuyan�s life and work.

On behalf of the family of Parag Bhuyan, his elder brother Jagadish Bhuyan thanked all for organizing the programme.
