Impartial probe into girl�s murder demanded

UDALGURI, Oct 11 � The Bodo Women�s Justice Forum (BWJF) has demanded an impartial inquiry into the killing of one Sunita Daimari (16) of Gelagaon village under Udalguri police station allegedly by a pharmacist Gautam Biswas and due punishment to the accused. This was stated by Anjali Daimari, chairman of the forum here at Udalguri Gaonburha Bhawan on Friday.

Addressing a press meet, Daimari condemned the incident and held that a proper impartial inquiry into the incident would unfold the whole story. She also alleged that the person concerned running an illegal pharmacy in Goroimari village was also suspected to be involved in human trafficking cases which should be brought to light by the investigating agency. The forum also demanded to scan and check all the pharmacies mushrooming in the district to check their validity. She was accompanied by Rwimali Mochahari, publicity secretary of BWJF and several other central and district committee members of the forum.

Before the press meet, the forum members visited the victim�s village and met the parents of the deceased student.

Meanwhile, the nine-hour-long Udalguri district bandh in protest against the killing of the school girl called on Friday by the Udalguri district committee of ABSU was total and peaceful in the district.
