IMPHAL, Jan 4 � People in Manipur particularly those in the valley districts on Friday celebrated Imoinu Iratpa Day, the worship day of the Goddess of Wealth by lighting up their houses and localities.
The Khwairamband Keithel was jam packed with vehicles and pedestrians who thronged the market for their last-minute shopping for the festival as the residents bought fishes and sweets to offer to the Goddess. Local clubs and social organisations also organised the worship at the localities. Important streets of Imphal town were also decorated and illuminated.
Foundation day: The 33rd foundation day of Kangleipakki Meira, an evening daily was celebrated at Manipur Press Club here. Three media persons namely Michaeljit of ISTV, Thongam Premchand of Poknapham daily and Asem Bebicha of Hueiyen Lanpao daily and were honoured with awards during the function.
