Immigration checkpoint at Dhubri

DHUBRI, May 1 - The Customs and Immigration Checkpoint for Dhubri district was formally opened on Wednesday with a delegation of six foreign tourists and two Indian citizens crossing the riverine border and visiting Bangladesh through the water route via Dhubri.

Officials of the Inland Water Transport Department informed that this has not only formally opened the much-needed check point in Dhubri, but has also opened a river tourism route to Bangladesh via Dhubri. The officials also confirmed that the team reached Dhubri from Pandu port at Guwahati and is visiting places of various historical and cultural interest.

The team also visited the historic Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and the teracotta village of Asarikandi.
