JALUKBARI, Oct 29 - The Kamrup (M) district administration, assisted by Assam Police, demolished 18 unauthorised structures near Jalukbari today.
According to sources, the illegal structures had been set up by some unauthorised people on 12 bighas of government land. The people were served notice by the district administration to vacate the land prior to the demolition that took place today.
The eviction drive passed off peacefully, but a suspicious person was detained by the police as he was trying to videograph the drive. Investigation is on to unearth the reason behind the person�s motive of videographing the eviction, the sources added.
