By Correspondent

RANGIYA, March 2 - Strict action will be initiated against people using illegal licences, who are running buses under the banner of ASTC, said Anand Prakash Tiwari, ASTC, MD. He also added that use of illegal licence is against the standing law of Motor Vehicles Act and would be dealt with as per law.

Every possible effort would be made to revamp and beautify the Rangiya ASTC office and bus stop premises, he said while talking to mediapersons here on Monday during his official visit to the ASTC office here. The MD met the ASTC officials here and later inspected the bus stop area to take stock of the developments. He stressed on overall maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene in and around the present office campus, assuring all possible assistance including earth-filling and other needful revamp works required for beautification of the surroundings. Besides, work would be carried out shortly in the area to check the menace of flash flood during the rainy season.

The MD also directed the officials concerned to look into the issues of rented occupants of some holdings of the office building for many years. In presence of local people, the MD further said that new policies and programmes are being introduced to facilitate use of ASTC bus service, specially for the rural masses so that they get better and secured service through Rangiya to other parts of the State.

It needs to be mentioned here that Rangiya ASTC office as well as the bus stop area are lying in a pathetic state due to the recent growth of an unauthorised tempo stop inside nearly two bighas of ASTC land near NH-31 at Rangiya Highway Chowk.
