Illegal condensate oil seized, two held

DULIAJAN, May 5 - In a crackdown against the illegal trade of condensate oil, a team of police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Kulpradip Bhattacharya of Namrup and officer-in-charge of Duliajan Police Station Rupjyoti Dutta seized 7,000 litres of illegal condensate oil from 2 no. Naoholia village of Duliajan on May 4 night.

Acting on a tip-off, DSP Kulpradip Bhattacharya raided the house of Bolai Majumder (67) and seized approximately 1,500 litres of condensate oil.

Later, the police team raided the house of Papu Mazumder (31) and recovered 5,500 litters of condensate oil. The house of Papu Mazumder is near the residence of Bolai Majumder.

The houses of both the illegal condensate oil traders are situated at 2 no. Naoholia village in Duliajan.

The condensate oil was collected by these two illegal traders from the crude oil transportation pipelines of Oil India LTD.

Later police filed a case against Bolai Majumder and Papu Majumder in the Duliajan Police Station. Both the culprits were then sent to the Dibrugarh District Jail today.
