GUWAHATI, Aug 20 - A leaflet of the IIT Guwahati�s annual techno-management festival �Techniche�, the Assamese version of which has spelling mistakes galore, has created a flutter.
The leaflet was prepared to publicise the half marathon organised as part of Techniche on August 25. It has been circulated across the city.
Almost all the Assamese words used, grammar and the spellings in the leaflet are erroneous.
�We apologise for it. We are printing new leaflets now,� was the response of the organisers on being contacted by this reporter.
Questions are being raised as to how the organisers of an annual event circulated the leaflet which has caused embarrassment to the prestigious institution. Unicef, Bharat Petroleum and Indian Army are partners in the event.
The Techniche is slated to be held from August 29 to September 1. Exhibitions, lecture series, panel discussions, etc, have been lined up on the occasion. The half marathon of 6 km carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. It will begin at 5.15 am from the Bhogeshwari Phukanani Indoor Stadium.
